THREE EXPLOSIVE VOLUMES EDITED BY MATTEO ORLANDO AND THE EDITORIAL TEAM OF INFORMAZIONE CATTOLICA
The “Trilogy of uncomfortable truths” has just been published on Amazon, three volumes edited by the journalist and essayist Matteo Orlando and the editors of Informazione Cattolica.
The work, which contains 120 reflections by forty different authors (Anna Monia ALFIERI, Gianfranco AMATO, Francesco BELLANTI, Maria BIGAZZI, Eleonora BONFANTI, Gian Piero BONFANTI, Sergio CALDARELLA, Lorenzo CAPELLINI MION, Matteo CASTAGNA, Domenico CONVERSA, Flavia CORSO, Giuliva DI BERARDINO, Dalila Di DIO, Maria Luisa DONATIELLO, Anna Raisa FAVALE, Ruggero Felice GORLETTI, Paolo GULISANO, Nicola INCAMPO, Pietro LICCIARDI, Giuseppe LUBRINO, Emanuela MACCARRONE, Simona MARINO, Chiara MASOTTO, Jozef MIKLOŠKO, Attilio NEGRINI, Matteo ORLANDO, Antonella PANICCIA, Alvise PAROLINI, Enrica PERUCCHIETTI, Francesco PISANI, Sabina RIGHETTI, Andrea ROSSI, Pamela SALVATORI, Andrea SARRA, Vincenzo SILVESTRELLI, Gianmaria SPAGNOLETTI, Umberto SPINIELLO, Diego TORRE, Daniele TRABUCCO, Habtè WELDEMARIAM), is divided into 3 volumes. The first volume contains contributions on “Ethics – Bioethics”. The second volume deals with the topics “Politics – Geopolitics”. The third volume on “History, Culture and Religion”.
In the Preface to the first volume (TRILOGIA DELLE VERITÀ SCOMODE: VOLUME 1. ETICA E BIOETICA: Dall’aborto al transumanesimo, dall’eutanasia alla dittatura gender: 40 dardi controrivoluzionari, acquistabile QUI) Lawyer Gianfranco Amato, President of Giuristi per la vita, wrote:
If we wanted to find a common thread that could connect the forty interesting contributions collected in this essay, the clues would inevitably fall on an ancient Greek term: ὕβρις (hỳbris). This lemma represents human pride when it reaches the dimension of insolence and arrogance that leads it to presume it can override, through its own power and fortune, the divine will and the natural order. It is the claim of modern man to be the measure of all things. And it is this claim that leads him to mock God: generating life in the laboratory through the multiple possibilities granted by scientific innovations in technology; taking life, as and when desired, with abortion and euthanasia; replanting the biblical tree of knowledge, with the claim of establishing what is Bonum and what is Malum; autonomously determining the male and female identity, through the pernicious gender ideology; subverting the natural order of things through positive law; replacing the concept of man’s infinite dignity with that of his self-determination; conceiving the State as the source and fountain of all rights, to which to attribute the privilege of power without limits; claiming to oppose the truth with the lie of ideologies imposed by Establishment; ignoring that freedom is in man the highest sign of God’s image in man, and that every individual has the natural right to be recognized as a free and responsible being; assuming that man can save himself alone, without the need for faith or for divine intervention. A claim that sums up all the most ancient and dangerous heresies: from Gnosticism to Arianism, from Catharism to Pelagianism, from Joachimite millenarianism to Lutheranism. It is always that biblical «pride», which Scripture defines as «initium omnis peccati», generated precisely by the «apostate to God» (Sir 10, 14-15), and which Saint Augustine, in his discourse on earthly pilgrimage, well represents with the image of the «porta inferorum». The hell that this gate unleashes is falsely cloaked in progress, advancement, modernity, civilization, but this representation is nothing but a tragic mask incapable, however, of hiding the sulphurous stench exhaled by the places it claims to conceal. The compilers of this essay have the undoubted merit of having made evident and current, through a merciless photograph of reality, what level has been reached today by the haughty hybris of modern man who, with his delirious Promethean effort to be «ommium rerum mensura», risks his inevitable and definitive self-destruction.
In the Preface to the second volume (TRILOGIA DELLE VERITÀ SCOMODE: VOLUME 2. POLITICA E GEOPOLITICA. Dal camaleonte USA alle dittature ideologiche, dalle follie green alla società della barbarie: 40 dardi controrivoluzionari, acquistabile QUI) Matteo Castagna, Head of the Catholic Circle “Christus Rex-Traditio”, Roman Catholic Association, wrote:
In the West, geopolitics is considered superficially. The media treats the news without a serious and in-depth approach, preferring to focus on issues of less depth but also of lesser importance. The result is that those who do not find specialized magazines, or valid personal sources, do not understand anything and are forced to trust the flashes of the news or the newspaper articles. We recently learned that some Italian editorial offices do not even have journalists who deal with geopolitics. The common opinion of all the authors of the contributions presented in this book is that, in the third millennium, if you do not delve into this topic you risk falling victim to propaganda and believing every joke on talk shows. We have tried, just as we have tried to speak clearly about our home politics. You be the judge. To Saint Thomas Aquinas the final reflection for this succinct preface. «Freedom is the ability of man to be the arbiter, that is, the master of his own actions, choosing between various possibilities and alternatives: to act or not to act, to do one thing rather than another. If man were led to his destiny without freedom, he could not be happy, it would not be his happiness, it would not be his destiny. It is through his freedom that destiny, the end, the purpose, the ultimate object can become an answer for him. Destiny is something to which man is responsible, it is the fruit of freedom».
The third volume (TRILOGIA DELLE VERITÀ SCOMODE: VOLUME 3 – STORIA, CULTURA E FEDE. Dal genocidio culturale alla storia ideologizzata, dalla massoneria anticristiana ai cristiani ignavi: 40 dardi controrivoluzionari , acquistabile QUI), begins with a poetic exordium by the painter and poet Enzo Chialli, author of the cover depicting Saint Francis of Assisi taming the wolf of Gubbio. The third volume of the “Trilogy of uncomfortable truths”, which consists of forty contributions that the authors wish to offer readers to reflect on three different themes: history, culture and religion, reminds us that “We must obey God rather than men” (Acts of the Apostles, chapter 5, verse 29). This biblical passage makes absolutely clear what behavior a person with a good conscience must have, who follows the Law of God: a perfect law, unlike human laws, which are imperfect, fallible, wrong. The Gospel tells us that man is made for the truth, to meet it, to adhere to it. And to do so he must remove the obstacles that can prevent him from doing so. For this reason, a religious man must love justice and freedom. Furthermore, without the living hope in eternal life, firmly rooted in the Resurrection of Christ, it is impossible to lead an authentically Christian life. In the current chaos in which a part of the Church finds itself, the people of God, often left alone by some pastors, are increasingly at the mercy of relativism. That is, of that deadly “in my opinion” sentence opening that, in the absence of a shared theological-pastoral compass is shattering the once Catholic world, pitting armed factions one against the other.
